Precautions for the use of gas cylinders
I. precautions for the handling, storage and filling of high-pressure gas cylinders:
1. When moving and storing gas cylinders, install shockproof washers and tighten safety helmets to protect the on-off valve, prevent its accidental rotation and reduce collision
2. When handling gas cylinders filled with gas, hujinping, the director of the company's No. 2 electrolysis plant, said that it is best to use a special stretcher or trolley, or carry it horizontally or rotate it vertically by hand. However, it is not allowed to move the on-off valve by hand
3. Gas cylinders filled with gas should be properly fixed during loading and transportation to avoid rolling collision on the way; When loading and unloading the vehicle, it should be lifted and placed gently. Throwing, sliding or other methods that are easy to cause collision are prohibited
4. Cylinders filled with gases that may cause combustion and explosion after contact with each other (such as hydrogen cylinders and oxygen cylinders) cannot be transported or stored in the same vehicle, nor mixed with other inflammables and explosives
5. If the cylinder body is defective, the safety accessories are incomplete or damaged, and the safe use cannot be guaranteed, it must not be sent to fill the gas, and it should be sent to the relevant units for inspection before use
II. General principles for the use of high-pressure gas cylinders
1. High pressure gas cylinders must be kept in different places by classification, and they must be firmly fixed when placed upright; The gas cylinder should be kept away from the heat source to avoid exposure and strong vibration; Generally, the amount of deflated bottles in the laboratory shall not exceed two
(1) on the shoulder of the cylinder, make the following marks with a steel seal:
manufacturer's manufacturing date cylinder model working pressure pneumatic test pressure
pneumatic test date and next delivery date gas volume cylinder weight
(2) in order to avoid confusion during the use of various cylinders, the cylinders are often painted with different colors, indicating the name of the gas in the cylinder
2. The pressure reducer selected on the high-pressure gas cylinder should be classified and special, and the screw should be tightened during installation to prevent leakage; When opening and closing the pressure reducer and on-off valve, the action must be slow; When using, turn the on-off valve first, and then turn on the pressure reducer; After use, close the on-off valve first, and then close the pressure reducer after exhausting the residual gas. Never turn off the pressure reducer without turning off the on-off valve
3. When using high-pressure gas cylinders, operators should stand at the position perpendicular to the gas cylinder interface. The pollution caused by the plastic granulator process is often an important source of environmental pollution in China. During operation, it is strictly prohibited to knock and impact, and frequently check whether there is air leakage, and pay attention to the reading of the pressure gauge
4. Oxygen cylinders or hydrogen cylinders should be equipped with special tools and should not be in contact with oil. Operators should not wear clothes and gloves that are stained with various greases or easy to induce static electricity, so as to avoid burning or explosion
5. The distance between the combustible gas and combustion supporting gas cylinders and the open fire should be greater than 10 meters (if it is really difficult to reach, isolation and other measures can be taken)
6. The residual pressure of the used gas cylinder should be more than 0.05Mpa as required. Combustible gas should remain 0.2MPa ~ 0.3MPa (about 2kg/cm2 ~ 3kg/cm2 gauge pressure) and H2 should be kept 2MPa to prevent danger during re inflation. 2 The experimental force is worth insurance and cannot be used up
7. All kinds of gas cylinders must be inspected regularly. Cylinders filled with general gas shall be inspected once every three years; If serious corrosion or damage is found in use, inspection shall be carried out in advance
III. properties and safety of several special gases
1. Acetylene: acetylene is a very flammable and explosive gas. Acetylene air mixture containing% acetylene, or acetylene oxygen mixture containing 30% acetylene, is most likely to explode. Acetylene, chlorine, hypochlorite and other compounds will also burn and explode
the place where acetylene cylinders are stored shall be well ventilated. Install flashback arrester when using, and pay attention to prevent gas from retracting. If the acetylene cylinder is found to be heated, it indicates that acetylene has been decomposed. Immediately close the gas valve and cool the cylinder with water. At the same time, it is best to move the cylinder to a safe place away from personnel for proper treatment. In case of acetylene combustion, it is absolutely forbidden to use carbon tetrachloride to extinguish the fire
2. Hydrogen: hydrogen has low density, easy to leak, fast diffusion speed and easy to mix with other gases. Explosion limit of hydrogen and air mixture: the partial content of air is 18.3:59.0% (volume ratio). At this time, it is very easy to cause spontaneous combustion and self explosion, and the combustion speed is about 2.7 m/s
hydrogen should be stored separately, preferably in a special outdoor cabin to ensure safety. It is strictly prohibited to put it in the laboratory and fireworks. The on-off valve of the gas cylinder should be tightened
3. Oxygen: oxygen is a strong combustion gas, and pure oxygen is very active at high temperature; When the temperature is constant and the pressure increases, it can have a sharp chemical reaction with the oil, and cause heating and spontaneous combustion, and then produce a strong explosion
the oxygen cylinder must be prevented from contacting with oil, and other combustible gases must be absolutely prevented from mixing into the oxygen cylinder; It is forbidden to fill oxygen with (or misuse) gas cylinders containing other combustible gases. Oxygen cylinders should not be placed in places exposed to the sun
4. Nitrous oxide (nitrous oxide): it has anesthetic excitation effect, and can be decomposed into a mixture of oxygen and nitrogen when heated. In case of combustible gas, it can be combined with the oxidation in this mixture for combustion
